Upgrading SIS

Upgrading STAR Integration Server (SIS) to a more current version first requires a complete unistall of the application. This includes the SIS Client/Server, SIS Database, and SIS Satellite Server (if applicable), and should be done on every client machine that has SIS installed.

Once these applications are uninstalled, install the new versions of SIS Database, SIS Client/Server, and SIS Satellite (if applicable).  The SIS Database installer should be run first (one-time only), and should point to the existing SIS application database (SQL Server or Oracle).  Note that SIS will update this SIS Application database and will persist all existing Selection and Connection records.

NOTE: Simply renaming an existing installation directory and installing a newer version to a new directory will not work. SIS installs certain components that are registered on the machine, and having these components in multiple location are not recommended.

NOTE: When upgrading a testing or production environment, all SIS-related computers must be upgraded simultaneously to the same version.
