San Mateo, Calif., April 7, 2009 – Star Analytics, the leader in Financial Data Management software for consolidation, planning, budgeting, reporting and analysis, today announced the immediate availability of the Star Analytics Finance Command Center, the first centrally-controlled, secure enterprise software solution that monitors and automates the workflow of finance systems for non-technical finance users. The Star Finance Command Center represents the next generation of software that boosts operational efficiencies and accelerates business decisions by improving the management, reliability and visibility of finance processes.
The Star Finance Command Center is a breakthrough for the office of the CFO, providing a new way to manage, control and view the automation tasks that run across a company’s financial systems. As the latest addition to the Star Analytics Finance Control Platform, it’s an end-to-end solution that integrates finance and operational data on demand for reporting and analytical applications such as: Global Cash Management, Incentive Compensation, Expense and Revenue Management, Capital Planning, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) adoption, Performance Management and many others.
“According to Jeffrey Brobst, vice president business performance management for a leading software company, “Star Analytics is taking our finance systems to a new level of sophistication. With the Star Finance Command Center, we were able to eliminate 90% of the scripts from our Oracle Hyperion focused automation processes and provide a level of visibility and control that was not otherwise possible with other solutions. Given the product’s ability to work with a wide range of applications, we’re looking forward to implementing the software with other non-Hyperion based applications.”
“The Star Finance Command Center will enable Ranzal’s consultants to simplify the design of financial system interactions,” said Gerry Villamil, managing director at Ranzal & Associates, a Star Analytics partner. “This is a powerful new solution that strengthens our value proposition for clients by allowing us to deliver applications that greatly reduce the cost of ongoing maintenance.
“The positive feedback we’ve received from partners and initial customers in banking, energy, pharmaceuticals and technology confirms that the Star Finance Command Center is a win-win for both IT and Finance,” said Tom Tortolani, VP Products at Star Analytics. “The Star Finance Command Center dramatically reduces the time, cost and resources needed to integrate data and processes across disparate financial application environments.”
The Future of Finance Systems
“Interoperability across the multiple financial and operational application systems will continue to grow in importance as organizations strive for a more complete perspective on enterprise performance,” said Howard Dresner of Dresner Advisory Services, an EPM and BI thought leader and author of The Performance Management Revolution (John Wiley & Sons).
The Star Finance Command Center introduces pre-defined libraries of finance aware widgets to reduce and eliminate complex code. Partners and customers can create custom widgets and easily plug them into an open development environment within the Star Finance Command Center. These interoperable finance and business process components reflect a significant innovation in the evolution of finance systems. By eliminating information silos that result from closed, legacy finance applications, Star Analytics is accelerating the delivery of time-sensitive data for business decisions.
Key features in the Star Finance Command Center:
- Library of Finance widgets: Eliminates code and simplifies common tasks
- Graphical dashboard: Single view into processes that span multiple server ecosystems
- Central server repository: RDBMS repository provides automation source control with native backup, recovery and more
- Process management console: Configurable alerts streamline error handling and exception management
- Security: User- and role-based access controls
The Star Finance Command Center runs on Windows, Linux and other UNIX environments.
